This project is financed by Trinity Gosforth from the UK, and aims at empowering 9 young haitian students in Haiti for 3 years. The students have been carefully recruited on basis of both need and merit criteria. Given the fact that students who usually come from low-income families are the ones who used to drop out of school because the latter is not free in Haiti, this project is educating, and preventing these young people from leaving school.
A welcome ceremony was organised for the students beneficiaries of the project on 23rd May 2021 at the Orprie office in Vialet, Haiti. Photographs were taken and videos made.
The students beneficiaries from left to right are called: Esperantha BRIGNOLLE; Neisha MYRTIL; Louivens REGIS; Moron Cavalier Faribien; Anslo JOANIS; Weed-cherline INELUS; Elena Dementina DORVIL; Nayca MEYANT; Jooly OSTINÉ.
School fees have been paid, uniform, shoes, and backpack and school suplies items bought for the students in year 1. Same expenses have been repeated in year 2 of the project.
On the 4th June 2022, we met with the students and their parents to discuss student’s grades obtained and progress so far. The students are progressing very well and they are happy with the project.
